Maiden edition of the first ever award scheme solely for makeup artists in Ghana, came off successfully last Saturday August 27, 2016 at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
Over 24 professional makeup artists battled for the covetous Makeup of the Year award while some makeup training institutions, companies and media houses were also recognized.
The awards ceremony organized by Makeup Ghana was hosted by seasoned Radio Presenter Doreen Andoh and some of dignitaries present included: Honourable Dzifa Gomashie -Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, GUBA CEO -Dentaa Amoateng, Chief Executive of Makeup Ghana Rebecca Donkor, Actresses - Selly Galley, Zynell Zuh, Gloria Osei Sarfo, Broadcast Journalist Nana Aba Anamoah, among others.
Award winning Singer, Becca was the main actor of the night and she performed live guitar versions of her hit songs "Daa ke daa" and "Hw3".
The Ghana Makeup Awards celebrates makeup artists whose contributions to the beauty industry have not yet been duly recognized, as well as the younger generation of makeup artists, who are breaking new grounds and pushing the boundaries in the makeup profession.
