It will take few and courageous women who are heavily pregnant to engage in active politics – many husbands will not allow their pregnant wives to take such risk.
But one brave woman took that bold decision to campaign across the country for Ghana’s President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Kumawood actress Matilda Asare despite carrying a developing baby for six months campaigned energetically to ensure Nana Addo become president.
Currently in Massachusetts, in the United State, Matilda Asare is due for birth in about a week.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, the Kumawood actress noted that “I believed in Nana Addo and his capabilities. He can transform Ghana once again, that is why I campaigned massively for him when I was due to birth.”
“The creative industry is dear to my heart and I am very sure Nana Addo will fulfill all promises he made. He will never fail us,” she added.
Matilda Asare publicly endorsed now President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the heat of campaign.
Whilst many think it’s inappropriate for entertainers to declare their support for political parties, Matilda together with veteran actor Agya Koo launched “Agya Koo Agenda 57% 4 Nana Akufo-Addo” and campaigned across the country for Nana Addo.
