Tempers rose high on Accra FM on Sunday, January 22 when Ghanaian gospel musician Abena Ruthy visited the station for an interview on the station’s gospel entertainment show, Gospel 360.
The musician who is expected to launch her second album, “Higher Praise” on Sunday, January 29 at the National Theater in Accra was on the show as part of her media tour to promote the event. Minutes into the interview, Andy Favoured, host of the show’s plan to surprise Abena Ruthy with a birthday song was well executed by one fast rising Nigerian musician called Minister Igwe.
After Minister Igwe’s performance, Andy Favoured asked his guest, Abena Ruthy to hold on her breath for him to interview the Nigerian for few minutes because he was also on the show to premiere his new single.
The banker who doubles as musician had no problem with the request but her manager, Kwasi Ernest went mad after he heard the plea. The boss of Media Excel Production could not fathom why host of the show would stop interviewing his artiste and promote a Nigerian musician.
Angry Kwasi Ernest argued that host of the show should finish his chat with Abena Ruthy before focusing on the Nigerian because two artistes cannot be promoted intermittently but his petition was not honoured. According to the furious manager, no Nigerian presenter would halt an interview with his fellow countryman to interview a Ghanaian.
Producers of the show did all their best to cool him down but Kwasi Ernest insisted their action was wrong so he will not allow his artiste to continue the interview.
He later asked his artiste to walk out of the studio to allow Andy Favoured interview the Nigerian. Abena Ruthy who did not want to disobey his manager heeded to his order. They drove off the premises of the Class Media Group-owned radio station even before the show ended.

What they did to the artist is cruel, unprofessional and they should be blamed. They should have just say the Nigerian artist had something for her. Finally, they failed to even rectified the situation. The host and producer must be "fired".
It is very rude on the part of the presenter to interrupt one interview to start another. So the manager did right!!
The Manager did well. Our presenters should apply professionalism in their dealings.
U think a Nigerian will do dis.
Please find a suitable heading for this article, for me this artist is new in theaon the block, the article sounds as if she exhibited a rude attitude during the interview, by walking out of the show, this can affect her career in one way or the other to the outside world! She didnt walk out on her own will. She is being managed, as such she takes instructions from management.
I dont see any thing wrong with what the presenter did bro. I strongly believe there was a pre promo of having the Nigerian artist on the show as well. Besides it was an entertainment show and the program is not designed for only one artist
I honestly don't know what to say looking at what actually happened as it is written here but to me, if there is anyone to be blamed, it should be the Producers of the Show even before we come to the Presenter of the Show. The Reason is simple, producers run the show and so they could have done better. By better, this is what I mean, I think it wouldn't have been bad if they had prompted Mr. Ernest about their intentions to bring another artist on the show as it proceeds and ask if he was okay with it. Either he accepts or not, you would know what to do to avoid stuff like this but if you surprise her to the point where it is not fun anymore, then someway somehow, the businessman that I know Mr. Ernest is, will presume you are using his brand to promote another person of which he has every right to do that. The other thing I want to address is, Minister Igwe isn't a stranger. Yes he is a Nigerian but has become one of us, as most of us have ministered with him on most events inour country. He is one of the few people who love Ghana and is happy to be a part of us so let's not treat him like a stranger because he ain't no stranger. His ministry has blessed our land in his own small way and it's rather unfortunate things went like this. Let's not give this anymore room to happen again. My humble plea.
Pls next time the editor should get appropriate heading cos it wasn't the gospel musician who just left the studio . At the same time I think the manger should have excised patience for we christians all things work together for our good to them that love the lord. This Nigerian musician could have also connected to you to open door for you in Nigeria . You never know how God connects destiny together
Peace fm kindly get the grammarly software to help your editors..thank you
So good that this manager left that ***barred word*** to his hook, how and where on earth can such a ***barred word*** act be carried out, taking on that Nigerian when the arrangement was to promote the Ghanaian first. A very big shame to you Andy Favoured.
