Veteran actor and producer, Prince Yawson popularly known in showbiz industry as ‘Waakye’ says he has been stopped from having sex because of his health condition.
Waakye has been bedridden for some time now and this has necessitated his doctors advising him to stop engaging in sex and other conjugal duties.
“I’m currently doing well and I have been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital…but hahahaha…the doctor has advised me to abstain from sex and any form of hard work,” Waakye of ‘Obra’ Drama Series, ‘Chorkor Trotro’ fame and many others posted on his facebook wall.
For many people who are familiar with the comedy scene in Ghana, the name Waakye is not only synonymous with comedy but also with a person who has carved a niche for himself for portrayal of a local watchman on stage and on television.
He was particularly popular for his ability to mimic the accent of Northerners, which has made him the toast of many TV theatre lovers in the past.
After taking a break from comedy acting for some years now, Waakye is both happy and sad about developments in the art.
He regrets that a good number of the new crop of comedy actors have adopted insults as their way to make people laugh.
