If you had ever wondered why the man behind the ‘Oreo’ banger seems to so much love Ghana, then your curiosity finally finds an answer. Nigerian-based singer and songwriter, Iyanya, has, in an interview with 3FM, revealed that his biological grandmother is a Ghanaian.
Speaking with host of Easy Stream, MC Bobby, Iyanya said: “One thing Ghanaians don’t know is that my grandmother is from Ghana, [precisely] Accra.
“That is the Mills’ family. My grandmother’s name is Anna Mills,” he said.
The singer currently has an album dubbed Something, which is making waves across Africa. According to Iyanya, one of the songs on the album titled Odo Ye Wu is specially made for his fans in Ghana.
He could not end the interview without giving a shout-out to his ex-lover, Yvonne Nelson. Iyanya said he is preparing to officially come to Ghana to promote his new album.
