Broadcast journalist with the Despite group of Company, Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah says the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) awards is not credible.
The award which is organized by Big Events Ghana according to the broadcaster, lacks integrity and that is why he has told himself never to participate in the events.
According to Odi Ahenkan, he decided to opt out of the awards because of certain things he observed as the processes through which personalities are picked to be awarded.
“I was nominated for RTP awards for two times, I followed with keen interest the second time and when I noticed the things that goes on for the selection of the winners, I decided to opt out and I told them I am not in there for that award,” he said on Okay FM.
The broadcaster added that “I told them that unless I see some changes, I will never partake in it and since I made that declaration on radio I have never been part of that awards scheme”.
Odi Ahenkan who was alarmed by how awards are organized in the country asked his listeners to study the nominations on this year’s RTP Awards.
“I don’t mean to brag but Abeiku Santana is one of the best presenters in Africa and if I am capable of sitting in his shoes and hosting his show, interviewing big artistes like Stonebwoy, Batman and the likes, you cannot for go me when nominating best presenters in Ghana,” he said.
Odi Ahenkan made these assertions on Okay FM’s drive time, Ekwanso dwoodwoo.
