Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has welcomed reggae and dancehall star, Buju Banton, from prison.
Taking to Facebook, a social media platform, he posted “Welcome home, great soldier.”
The message was in reaction to a post by celebrated reggae musician, Gramps Morgan.
Buju Banton was released from a federal prison in Georgia on Friday, December 7, 2018.
This was after he was imprisoned in February 2011 for 7 years after being charged with illegal possession of a firearm and conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute.
The Jamaican musician was sentenced to 10 years, a prison term his attorneys appealed to be reduced a year later, citing his "limited participation" in the drug operation that led to his December 2009 bust.
