Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has said her involvement in politics has affected her music career to the extent that promoting her songs in the country has been a herculean task.
The musician, who has been off the music scene for some years now, indicated that people shunned her music after she openly supported the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.
The ‘16 years’ hitmaker said she has had to put her music career on hold, explaining that she rarely gets support from her fans when she releases songs.
According to her, an attempt to promote her song three years ago failed.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Mzbel said, “Music is kind of on hold for now. The main reason is that when I released Tongues, promoting it was difficult. It was right after the general election (2016) and I had shown my face as to whom I supported, so, there was hatred. I went for a nationwide tour but it still didn’t work."
“As things stand now, if I release a song, I won’t be able to promote it and I won’t get gigs because of political reasons. I have about 11 or 12 songs to be released, so, I put them on my website,” she stated.
Mzbel indicated that she’s now focusing on her pub located at Tema West.
“At the moment, I am focusing my energy on my pub and other things,” she asserted.

The records shows that any actor or artist who openly support NDC is dead as regard to their career. An in Mzbel case is double trouble as she has zero talent as a musician as well. She is ***barred word***
Good lesson for all. Never trade your talents with flirting with any political party. Promote your God given talents instead of openly supporting a political party.
You see how Ghanaians enjoy witnessingthe failure of their fellow Ghanaians? Never give up dear...keep pushing
If you have a little bit of sense in your head how can you say whom you claim the father of her son is? You are simply an idiooooooooot and stupiiiiiiiiiiiid fooooooool.
Point of correction Mzbel - you did not support NDC in 2016, you supported your baby father and it backfired big time. Not only did Ghanaian's reject him but they turned their backs on you too in order to teach you a lesson. Your music career is as dead as the acting career of Mr. Beautiful.
