Actress and Social Media Influencer, Andrea Owusu, popularly called Efia Odo has questioned President Nana Akufo-Addo's decision to lift the 3-week restrictions on movements amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
Efia Odo expressed her disappointment in the government stating emphatically that the President's decision is politically motivated.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, in his 7th nation address on the pandemic on Sunday, April 19, 2020, canceled the partial lockdown in the Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Areas, and Kasoa which recorded large numbers of the virus transmissions.
He explained that the decision to impose restrictions on movement was backed by ''the data at hand, and our next course of action, again, is backed by data and by science. Indeed, all that Government is doing is intended to achieve five (5) key objectives – limit and stop the importation of the virus; contain its spread; provide adequate care for the sick; limit the impact of the virus on social and economic life; and inspire the expansion of our domestic capability and deepen our self-reliance''.
After careful review and the government's ''ability to undertake aggressive contact tracing of infected persons, the enhancement of our capacity to test, the expansion in the numbers of our treatment and isolation centres, our better understanding of the dynamism of the virus, the ramping up of our domestic capacity to produce our own personal protective equipment, sanitisers and medicines, the modest successes chalked at containing the spread of the virus in Accra and Kumasi, and the severe impact on the poor and vulnerable'', President Akufo-Addo noted that it is prudent to ''lift the three (3) week old restriction on movements in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area and Kasoa, and the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area and its contiguous districts...''
Though the country has recorded 1042 cases of the Coronavirus with 99 recovery cases, the President believed the decision to liberate Ghanaians is beneficial but quickly added that ''lifting these restrictions does not mean we are letting our guard down. All other measures are still firmly in place''.
But Efia Odo doubts the President might have taken such decision in the interest of Ghanaians.
She tweeted; ''Ban being lifted after 1000+ cases reported. Something smells fishy or shall I say there's a political agenda aroma around this lift.''

Pity this girl. She does not understand the issues here and what is at stake. She cherishes people being locked out. She should stay indoors which the President said is still in force
That's symptomatic of NNP followers. They are zealously commenting without knowing the premise of the discourse . Cluelessness is their hallmark .
Who is this bitch
Who will rescue the good people of Ghana from these fo0ls
These so-called celebrities now know that the only way to trend on social media is to say something sensational, particularly against the government. So for any topical issue, all of them come out with all this garbage.
Please check yourself for whatever you are smelling is very likely to becoming from you.
Please allow everyone to express themselves, is Ghana not a democracy? I may agree with her, others may disagree with her. We all have our perception of the things we hear and see and even feel! There should be plurality of thoughts for that is what makes a nation tick! So I agree with you madam or lady Efia Odo. Please do not abuse the lady verbally, that is not a good feature of a good democratic nation!
Ashaw* with smel*ly p*ssy. Shut the f*ck up!
what about those who decide to go out and spread the virus unwillingly. Can you imagine the effect and cost.
You can continue to remain in lock down in your house for as long as you wish. No one is forcing you to come out.
