What was meant to be a show of affection by Asamoah Gyan’s 'girlfriend', Nina Atala, has ricocheted with many netizens piling a hoard of insults on the controversial lady.
Although Asamoah Gyan has not officially acknowledged Nina as his 'girlfriend' following his ongoing divorce hearing, Nina has not relented in expressing her love openly to the former Black Stars skipper on social media.
According to entertainment blog, Ghana Celebrities, on Monday, November 22, 2021, the former Black Stars captain celebrated his birthday and his side chick, Nina did not spare the opportunity to shower the father of three with love to mark the day.
Nina courted some controversy when she shared photos of Asamoah Gyan with captions that suggested that the former soccer star was her entire world.
In one of the photos, she captioned him as her ‘beau’, which can mean boyfriend.
While some revelled in the open show of affection, other netizens descended on her with invectives and hard-hitting words.
“Go back to your ex-convict husband and leave Asamoah alone,” one netizen posted in the comments section of the story on Ghanaweb.
Another called her an “opportunist”.
