Ghanaian actress, Martha Ankomah, has opened up about her desire to find love, settle down, and start a family.
In an interview on Emelia Brobbey’s show Okukuseku, Ankomah candidly shared her hopes for marriage and dreams of having three children. “Who doesn’t want marriage? Let’s be real,” she said, expressing her longing for family life. “I wish I had three kids that I could drop off at Sunday school and also take to school.”
“It is a beautiful thing,” she said, adding that she remains hopeful that God will grant her this wish.
For Ankomah, prayer is essential. “There are a lot of things I have prayed about, and He (God) has done some, so I know He will do this for me as well. It is just a matter of time.”
Ankomah also addressed a persistent misconception about her profession. Many people, she explained, view acting as a barrier to settling down, assuming it makes finding a husband difficult.
But she challenged this stereotype, pointing out that how an individual carries themselves matters more than their career choice. “I don’t believe in the idea that, as an actress, you won’t get a husband. You know what they see is different from what those of us in the entertainment industry see,” she said.
“It depends on how you, the individual, carry yourself. Because there are a lot of creatives who have gotten married and are living happily.”
Her reflections resonate with many who juggle career ambitions with personal dreams, emphasising the importance of faith and self-belief.
Through her optimism, Ankomah continues to inspire young women in Ghana and beyond, showing that with determination, achieving both career and personal happiness is possible.
