Monday night’s (5 October, 20:00 CAT on M-Net) BIG BROTHER REVOLUTION nomination show threw Yacob & Hannington and Elizabeth & Kevin up for eviction this week.

The nominations were particularly tough for the housemates this week because of the “Comrades in Arms” twist, which sees them playing the game in pairs. A nomination for one housemate is effectively a vote against their partner too – something which has blown the existing alliances in the house wide open and crystallized new ones in the space of less than 24 hours!

Once all the housemates had had their say, Yacob & Hannington and Quinn & Kristal found themselves in the firing line with 11 and 9 votes respectively against them as pairs. They will spend the week sweating over being evicted, while unbeknownst to them, Head of House Itai saved the Quinn/Kristal pairing and replaced them with Elizabeth & Kevin.

Without knowing it, Itai has played into the hands of the house’s new major alliance, who deliberately nominated Quinn & Kristal in the hope that he would indeed save them because of his relationship with Kristal.

Kaone was first into the diary room on Monday, nominating Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) because they have never been close and because Hannington is always stealing alcohol. His second nomination was Kristal (Kristal/Quinn) because of an alliance decision. The alliance (Kaone, Nkenna, Liz, Geraldine, Jeremy, Emma and Elizabeth) decided that they should all vote for Kristal because Itai, as HOH, would be forced to replace her.

Nkenna nominated Yacob (Hannington/Yacob) because he is not a member of her alliance and Quinn (Kristal/Quinn) as an alliance decision.Yacob nominated Liz (Kaone/Liz) because he thinks the only reason she is still around is because Elizabeth saved her last week. His second nomination is Jeremy (Jeremy/Geraldine) because he sees Jeremy as a threat when it comes to physical challenges.

Mzamo also nominated Jeremy (Jeremy/Geraldine) because she thinks he is the weakest link and Liz (Kaone/Liz) because she would like to see how Africa will respond.Edward nominated Nkenna (Itai/Nkenna) because “it’s time one of the Nigerians leave” and Liz (Kaone/Liz) because he felt her time was up this past week when she was up for eviction, but was lucky to be saved.

Kevin’s first nomination was Kristal (Kristal/Quinn) because he feels that she is a threat to him and his second was for Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) because Hannington is desperately seeking revenge for his role in sending Phil home two weeks ago. Kristal nominated Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) and Edward (Edward/Emma) - Hannington because he hasn’t apologised for swearing at her and Edward because she thinks he isn’t coping without his brother.

Liz nominated Yacob (Hannington/Yacob) because she is convinced he is going to nominate her and Kristal (Quinn/Kristal) as an alliance decision.Quinn nominated Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) “because of strategy decisions” and Edward (Edward/Emma) “for no particular reason”.

Geraldine’s first nomination was Yacob (Hannington/Yacob) because he and Hannington as a pair are in another alliance and because she heard they want to get rid of her. Her second nomination was Kristal (Quinn/Kristal) in keeping with her alliance’s strategy.

Jeremy’s first nomination was Yacob (Yacob/Hannington) – an easy choice, he says, as Yacob and Hannington are on the opposite side of his alliance. His second nomination was a tactical one for Kristal (Kristal/Quinn) in line with his alliance.

Emma nominated Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) because his partnership is the most vulnerable and she would like to see them go – and Kristal (Quinn/Kristal) for strategic reasons.

Leonel’s first nomination was Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) because of a grudge he has been holding since the first week, while his second, Kristal (Quinn/Kristal) was based on the fact that she is a threat to him, rather than for alliance reasons. He said he is playing his own game now.

Elizabeth nominated Hannington (Hannington/Yacob) because he is with Yacob, which makes their partnership strong. She stuck to her alliance for her second nomination, Kristal (Quinn/Kristal).

Hannington nominated Jeremy (Jeremy/Geraldine) because he believed Jeremy was going to nominate him and Liz (Liz/Kaone) because he believed she was going to nominate his partner, Yacob.

Itai nominated Elizabeth (Kevin/Elizabeth) because he felt that she is a powerful contender and would survive the nomination and Mzamo (Mzamo/Leonel) because he hasn’t made any promises to her as he believes that any promises made before Sunday night’s “Comrades in Arms” twist are no longer valid.

The nominations looked like this: Yacob/Hannngton (11), Quinn/Kristal (9), Liz/Kaone (4), Jeremy/Geraldine (3), Edward/Emma (2) and one apiece for Itai/Nkenna, Mzamo/Leonel and Elizabeth/Kevin.

Now it’s up to Africa to decide who stays in the house – and voting to keep your favourite BIG BROTHER REVOLUTION housemate in the game couldn’t be easier.
