An expected funfair, pure pugilistic demonstration is set to rock the newly-constructed boxing gymnasium (Trust Sports Emporium) near the Korle-Bu Traffic Light in Accra tomorrow.
And no other person than President John Mahama will grace the event with his heavy presence by performing the grand commissioning of the sports edifice.
Located near Bukom, a fishing community that has produced world champions like Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey, among others, it is aimed at providing a platform for boxing in particular and sports in general to revive its dwindling fortunes.
A press conference preceding the commissioning Monday morning saw the weigh-in of the boxers who will do battle in the night of boxing tomorrow.
Eight fights including a national lightweight title involving Benjamin Lamptey (Bukom Gym) and Sheriff Quaye (Black Panthers Gym) will be the main bout, put together by ETC & Trust Sports Emporium in association with Box Office Sports.
Officials of ETC Polska, Yatzek Sholterla and Victor Slavenskey contractors of the Sports Emporium expressed the hope that the facility will certainly offer the youth the opportunity to identify and express their sporting talents.
The giant sporting facility, set for commissioning at 4pm tomorrow was constructed by ETC Polska and supported by Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

@ efo, Max & Adjetey, don't allow your hate and pettiness consume you. Anything bad that happens in Ghana, you lay the blame at the doorsteps of the President. Now a good thing has happened and happened very well for the city of Boxing - Accra. Where would you send your praise? JM of course. What I see about some Ghanaians is that, they have moved from just criticism. They just hate the President for no apparent reason. One thing the forget is that, the President is blessed. He who Jah Bless... JM Toaso!
Skin pain fuo paaa nieeiiiii! I have message for you! This project was an NDC campaign promise to the people of BUKOM and the government has delivered. The government manages SNIT on behalf of Ghana by appointing most of the board of directors and the CEO. The NDC appointed CEO and board approved a government request for funds for the project! There is no way SNIT can unilaterally build this project without the NDC government's approval. The mission has been accomplished, and I say JM Toaso!
Fully financed by SSNIT as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations last year. Not a single pesewa from government.
Please Max its a government project support by SSNIT and private partners....Please you can check information from the ssnit webpage wai...learn to appreciate this government for once
Another vote buying project.
HAHAHAHA GREEN BOOK WILL BE EDITED SOON THOUGH NOT CONSTRUCTED BY THE GOVT
Please this project is not completed!!!!!!!!!!! Why the rush?
