Three executives of the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), have resigned from their post in protest to some electoral “irregularities” ahead of its elective congress slated for June 22, 2018 in Tamale.

The three executives namely; Natheniel Agoe, Amin Ametor and Hassan Aminu have vented their frustration towards the President of the GCF, Mohammed Sahnoon and other executives, for changing the 2018 election guidelines without their consent which violates its statutes.

GNA sources close to the GCF have revealed that, the three executives and some club chairmen of the association have petitioned the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the dissolution of the GCF, as they are ready to boycott this year's elections.

According to Agoe, an executive member of the GCF, the top managers of the cycling in the country have not being fair in their dealings as some of the recent decisions contradicts statues of their international body, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
''The GCF has not been fair with some of the executives with regards to augmentation with certain election guidelines which clearly contradicts the statutes of UCI.

''The association has not yet declared the assets of the association which also goes against the regulations of the association and the number of voters have not yet been revealed, which also violates the regulations.

''So I would take steps to seek redress ahead of this year's elections because it's my right to seek for fairness,'' Agoe told GNA Sports.

Meanwhile, some cycling clubs in the Greater Accra are expected to hold a roadshow on Tuesday, 12 June 2018, in protest of the misconduct of the current association.
