Asamoah Gyan has received a ringing endorsement from Sunderland manager, Steve Bruce after his debut season in the English League. The Ghana striker who cost 13million last summer scored 10 league goals during his debut Premier League term.
Though reports indicate that Gyan could be on the move after just one campaign with the Black Cats, Bruce insists there's been no inquiries for the Ghanaian with Tottenham rumoured as suitors for the striker.
"I have had no inquiries for Gyan," Bruce said. "I've seen bits of speculation but that does not worry me at all." Bruce has been encouraged by Gyan's performance and expects him to get better, come the 2011/12 season.
"He will be better in the second year because he will be used to it more. What we need is competition for him. That is where we will try to start."
