Egypt coach Bob Bradley has shockingly been ranked the best coach in Africa despite failing the qualify the Pharaohs for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations while Stephen Keshi coach of African champions Nigeria is rated fifth on the continent.
The latest ranking by the Institute of Football Coaching Statistics (IFCS) shows that the American trainer is rated 5th best in the world, the highest for an African national team coach.
Frenchman Michel Dussuyer, who is in charge of Equatorial Guinea, placed second in Africa while he was ranked 19th globally.
His compatriot Herve Renard of Zambia is third on the continent and he is rated 24th in the world while Egypt legend Hassan Shehata and Nigeria�s Stephen Keshi are fourth and fifth respectively.
Bradley�s ranking is a shock for the game�s pundits as the Pharaohs have been struggling under the American coach.
They failed to qualify for this year�s Africa Cup of Nations yet coach of the title winners Stephen Keshi of Nigeria is rated lowly.
Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah is 13th in Africa and 69th globally.
He has been in charge of the Black Stars a little over a year and steered the team to a fourth place finish at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last February.
The Football Coach World Ranking is world�s first ranking of football coaches based on actual performance.
The national team coach ranking is monthly calculated on the results of 3,800 national soccer matches played over the last 48 months.
The coaches earn ranking points in those international matches that give points for FIFA�s World Ranking.
