President John Dramani Mahama is expected to grace Friday night�s prestigious Guinness National Player Awards slated for the State Banquet Hall, State House, as the Special Guest of Honour.
The event, being organised by Proton Sports Limited (PSL), in conjunction with the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG), Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, is aimed at rewarding past and present football personalities for their various contributions to Ghana Football.
According to the organisers, plans were far advanced to get the President of the Republic to enhance the programme, spiced with an entertainment package to make it a night to remember.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of PSL, Mr Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, this year�s event promises to be a vast improvement over the maiden edition last year, with giant beverage company, Guinness Breweries Limited, coming on board as the headline sponsor for a three-year period.
Other sponsors of the awards are Everpure Mineral Water, Shield Acrylic Paints, Electroland, and Mr Kennedy Agyepong of Kenpong Construction Company.
