The Federation of International Football Association, (FIFA), has commenced the construction of a standard water-based artificial turf in fulfillment of its Goal Project five for the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates that a team of experts from the Netherlands has begun works to construct the turf at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
According to a source at the GFA, the same experts built the mini arenas of former French captain, Marcel Dessailly�s sports complex at the heart of East Legon, Accra.
The project which will cost 688,000 dollars is scheduled to be completed in June.
Ghana is benefiting from the FIFA Goal Project that allows member associations of the global body to receive funding for development project that respond to special needs for the five time.
The technical centre in Prampram, headquarters of the GFA, and a kitchennet plus conference centre are products of the previous grants received from FIFA.
The Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence is often used as the camping base for the various junior national teams.
