President John Mahama has said people found guilty of financial malfeasance by the Commission investigating Ghanas poor showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will be punished.
According to the president, government will make the report of the commission public for Ghanaians and government to collectively decide who must be punished.
Speaking to a cross section of Ghanaians in the US on the sidelines of the 69th UN assembly, Mr Mahama said no official found guilty after the probe will be spared.
I have taken measures to investigate corruption. When I became president, there were rumours about judgment debt. I appointed a sole commissioner to look into the judgment debts. He is doing it openly and publicly and all Ghanaian are seeing what is going on there.
When the events that took place in Brazil happened, I have set up a commission of inquiry so that Ghanaians will be a part of the process to see what happened there. When these commissions are finished, we will publish the report for all Ghanaians to see. And we all will take the decisions. If we have to sanction people, we have to sanction them he stated.
The three-man commission led by Justice Dzamefe was set up by the president to probe into the invents that led to Ghanas bitter exit from the mundial in Brazil.
