Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) referee Joseph O. Lamptey and assistant referee David Laryea, have been selected by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to officiate in the 2016 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Rwanda.
The two Ghanaians managed to survive the rigorous physical fitness test on Monday, January 11, ahead of the competition.
Referee Lamptey and Laryea, would be among the team of referees,who will handle matches during the three week competition.
Referee Lamptey told the GNA Sports that, though the physical fitness test was very rigorous they managed to overcome it and are now set to officiate in the competition.
Referee Lamptey has been Ghana's leading middle man in recent years having officiated in series of CAF Champions League Matches, the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Equatorial Guinea and New Zealand respectively last year.
The Championship has since commenced in Rwanda.
