General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Opoku Nti has confirmed to Class Sports he has decided to stay on at the club.
The 55-year-old was earlier undecided over his future but confirmed to Class Sports’ Hussein Hassan on Monday July 4 he wanted to stay put.
“My decision is to stay at Kumasi Asante Kotoko until the end of the season. That is what I have chosen. I have written to the board to tell them of what I have settled on and will be awaiting their response,” he stated.
Communications Director of Asante Kotoko Kweku Ahenkorah has backed the decision taken by the General Manager.
“He has shown great love for Kotoko and it’s not surprising at all he’s decided to stay on. It is now up to the board to get back to us but as things stand, he continues in the role,” Mr Ahenkorah observed.
The Opoku Nti-led management, which has set itself a target of winning the Premier League title, is on course to achieving its aim, as the team sits second in the league table with 30 points, only a point away from leaders Wa All Stars and play away to Inter Allies at Tema on Sunday July 10.
