The Ghana Rugby Club Championship (GRCC) 2014 - 15 is about to kick off its Pool A matches at the Accra Rugby Club pitch (Legon) in Accra on 1 November 2014.

This follows the successful completion of a Rugby Gala organised by the Greater Accra Rugby Association (GARA) held at the same venue last Saturday when six Clubs from Greater Accra competed for the 2014 Charlys Cup.

The GRCC is a senior 15s tournament and the six Clubs that competed in the Charleys Cup will again battle for the Eagles Cup. The teams include Accra Sharks RFC, Cosmos Buffaloes RFC the winners of the Charleys Cup, Dansoman Hurricanes RFC, Idas Sports RFC, Legon Titans RFC and Tema Anchors RFC.

Matches are scheduled to kick off at 11am (Legon Titans RFC vs Tema Anchors RFC), 1pm (Idas Sports RFC vs. Accra Sharks RFC) and 3pm (Dansoman Hurricanes RFC vs. Cosmos Buffaloes RFC).

Senior 15s matches are played over two halves of 40 minutes each with a break in-between of 10 to 15 minutes.

The tournament will be officially opened by Mr. Ernest Hanson (Vice President of the GRFU in the absence of the President, Mr. Herbert Mensah) and Mr. Bright Dzameshie (President of GARA).

The tournament will also serve as basis for the nomination of players by the various coaches for trials for the selection of a national team, the Eagles, that will take part in international tournaments in 2015.

The first round of the tournament will be played on every Saturday of November for Accra Pool A and will continue from the 10th of January to culminate in semi finals and a final on 20 February 2015 in Accra. Detail of Pool B matches in the Central and Western Regions (CentWest) will be announced shortly.
