Ghana will set up base in Nelspruit, South Africa ahead of their 2010 Nations Cup campaign in Angola, barring a last-minute change of mind, KickOffGhana.com can exclusively reveal.
The Black Stars will be chasing a fifth African title in Angola next year and have chosen South Africa as their training base in the build-up to the tournament.
The team will spend the period between December 27 and January 6 in South Africa before flying to Angola four days before the start of the tournament.
Ghana Football Association officials travelled to South Africa two weeks ago to check out the base and even though they say it is likely they will camp there, they suggest nothing has been finalised.
The SA camping base will be a departure from Ghanas preferred destination of Naivasha, Kenya, which served Ghanas various national teams well in the build-up to major tournaments.
