Ghana will play four-time champions Brazil in the final of the Under-20 World Cup on Friday after both sides safely negotiated their semi-finals.
Brazil beat Costa Rica 1-0 thanks to a sublime finish by Alan Kardec from a narrow angle. Ghana had earlier beaten Hungary 3-2, a brace from Dominic Adiyiah setting up a healthy lead for the Africans by the half-hour.
In a thrilling final 20 minutes, Marko Futacs pulled back a goal in the 73rd minute but Ghana sealed their progression through a Abeiku Quansah thunderbolt although Adam Balajti made for a nervous end with a second for Hungary.
Adiyiah is the tournament's leading scorer with eight goals, and is three behind Javier Saviola's record of 11 goals in 2001. Brazilian striker Adailton scored 10 in 1997.
