New signing, Mahatma Otoo scores winner to give Hearts of Oak their first victory of the season at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The 1-0 win over Kessben FC will lift the recent misery surrounding the Phobians after two successive defeats into the start of the season. But as the Phobians produced a winning form, AshantiGold will rue dropped points in their 1-1 tie with Asante Kotoko at the Len Clay Stadium despite going top of the table with a point better than the second-placed side.

The Miners scored the opener through Aminu Mohammed before Daniel Nii Adjei drew the former champions level. However, AshantiGold failed to pick all three points as Stephen Owusu Sefa's spot kick was saved by Kotoko goalkeeper, Isaac Amoako late on in the game.

Heart of Lions returned to winning ways at the Kpando Park where they defeated new entrants, Edubiase FC 2-1 in a game which was settled before the 16th minute mark. Abraham Annan put the home team in front after four minutes but Ibrahim Moro equalised for Edubiase in the 8th minute.

Lions snatched the winner after 15 minutes when full-back Emmanuel Ansong scored. Real Tamale United posted a 1-0 win over Aduana Stars at Tamale Stadium thanks to a Frank Amoako goal. King Faisal kept their impressive start running at the Baba Yara Stadium where they sealed a 2-1 win over Sekondi Hasaacas.

Hamza Mohammed put Faisal in the lead in the 35th minute before Awudu Nafiu doubled their lead. Hasaacas pulled one back through Joseph Ato Bissah. Kamal Issah handed Liberty Professionals all three points in their 1-0 victory against Chelsea at the Carl Reindorf Park.

Real Tamale United beat Aduana Stars 1-0 at Tamale Stadium thanks to a Frank Amoako goal. Eleven Wise defeated Great Olympics 2-1 at the Sekondi Stadium. Kwabena Okyere and William Owusu scored for Wise before Charles Amankwah pulled one back for Olympics.

All Stars' season took another bad turn as they lost 0-1 at the Golden City Park to Berekum Arsenals.
