The weekend heralds the big kick-off in the 2009-2010 Polytank Division One League, Ghanas second most fiercely competitive league.
Forty-eight clubs groped into zones nationwide will be participating with the hope of releasing their long held ambitions of grabbing one of the three premiership slots that would be up for the taking come end of season.
Certainly, before the start of any new season, there are favourites as the league welcomes three demoted clubs from the premiership, All Blacks, Sporting Mirren and Tema Youth.
Also former elite campaigners, Vipers are back in the groove after gaining promotion from division two. The four sides are not the only new clubs that will be using the DOL to launch their premiership hopes. Nine other sides are also in the race after securing promotion to the second tier.
Debut campaigners are: Bazooka, Samba, Yagbon Stars, Ahafoman, Depotivo, Medeama, Tete Atenpong, Red Bull and Prampram Pure Joy. Your guide to the new season starts from here as www.ghanafa.org will carry you to the venues on every match day.
