Kumasi Asante Kotoko's goalkeeper, Soulama Abdoulaye has rendered an unqualified apology to the National Security following his attack on a National Security operative on Sunday after their 1-0 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak.

Soulama was caught on camera pummeling one of the security personnel who attempted to prevent him from confronting the centre referee after the match. Some of the Kotoko officials prevented the arrest of the goalkeeper immediately after the game.

Jarvis Peprah, a management member of the club spoke to Citi sports about the unfolding event and disclosed that the management of Kotoko and the player have written a formal letter of apology to the national security.“Kotoko has actually written a letter of apology on his behalf and on behalf of the club to the national security secretariat, I handled that one personally…Monday I spoke verbally with the senior members of the national security and followed up with an apology… so the national security are aware, he has rendered an apology and we have sent an official letter to them. He said.

Meanwhile sources close to the National Security have revealed to Citi Sports that goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye has been invited for questioning, following the incident.According to sources close to the National Security, the goalkeeper is likely to be charged with assault on a public officer.

This means he could be facing a possible jail sentence or at least a fine if the matter is pursued to the latter.

Meanwhile, the management of the club is expected to hold a crisis meeting with head coach Paa Kwesi Fabienand and some selected members of the playing body. Kotoko have picked up only 10 points so far in the league and lie 13 on the league table.
