Ghana youth international Rabiu Mohammed helped Evian Thonon Gaillard FC to secure promotion to the French Ligue 1 on Friday night after a 1-2 win at Stade de Reims.
Evian TG stayed on top of the 20-team table on 64 points with one match remaining and will play FC Metz on the final day of competition next week.
Mohammed, who joined the club last summer on loan from Udinese, played for 66 minutes as his side came from behind to win at the Stade Auguste Delaune.
The skillful midfielder is certain to earn a permanent deal after impressive the technical team.
The 21-year-old has struggled for playing time since moving abroad three years ago from Liberty Professionals.
He told GHANAsoccernet.com: “This is a big day for me in my career because it been difficult for me all these while. I will savour this day and look to the future.”
“I think my future rests with this club and I will love to stay and hone my talent here.”
Mohammed was a member of the Ghana Under-20 which won the 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.
