Ghana legend Abedi Pele insists playing in Africa next season is not the priority of Nania FC following the side’s historic winning of the MTN FA cup.
The three-time African Footballer of the Year saw the second-tier side edge past giants Asante Kotoko 1-0 in a nail-biting contest at the Accra Sports stadium.
The feat means the club will earn the Caf Confederation Cup finals next season but the ex-Black Stars captain does not want to be drawn into the speculations.
“Honestly like I’ve said before, we are happy we have won the Cup and that’s what we’re thinking about now,” Pele said.
“We want to savour the moment and not occupy ourselves with whether we’ll go to Africa or not.
“We are not thinking about that for now and when the time for us to make the decision comes, we’ll inform the soccer fans.”
If Nania pulls out of the competition, Kotoko who emerged runners-up will be drafted in to play in Caf’s second-tier competition.
