Ghana defender John Pantsil could make his debut for Leicester City on Tuesday at Kettering Town once his work permit is sorted out by today.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian should have no issue with the permit because he has played more than 60 games for his country and has appeared in England for West Ham United and Fulham over the past five years.
Although Pantsil has missed most of pre-season, City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is confident he will be ready for the start of the campaign.
“He has started training with us back at home but I am not sure really how much he has done,” said Eriksson.
“He had a game at the beginning of June for Ghana and, knowing him a little bit, he is naturally fit. He is athletically built, so I don’t think that will be a problem.”
