THE MANAGEMENT of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has started a serious search for a potent striker to replace outgoing forward, Ahmed Toure.
The Ivorian player has been handed an invitation for medicals at Egyptian club El-Masry.
If the medical goes on successfully, El-Masry would sign on Ahmed Toure to feature for them in the Egyptian league.
Kotoko management doesnt want to be taken off guard so they have started looking for a suitable replacement for Toure even before he leaves.
A Kotoko source hinted to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that the Egyptian side has so much confidence in Toure so they would never let him return to Kotoko.
According to him, if Toure passes the medicals, El-Masry would offer him a lucrative contract which Kotoko couldnt reject.
He disclosed that Kotoko have plans of signing on leading goalking, Emmanuel Baffoe of New Edubiase when the registration window opens.
Though no deal has been reached so far, he noted that Kotoko are prepared to cough a huge sum of money to snatch the goal scoring machine into their fold.
Ahmed Toure is Kotokos leading goal scorer in the Glo Premier League with six goals in nine games.
Already, reports about the strikers intended trip to Egypt has sparked fury among a section of Kotoko fans in the Garden City.
Kotoko management therefore wants to poach an equally potent striker to replace the Ivorian player to appease the fans.
