Striker Asamoah Gyan will be given a run out when Ghana plays South African topflight side Platinum Stars in a pre- 2012 Nations Cup friendly on Wednesday.
It will the final warm-up game for the Black Stars before the team emplanes to Gabon ahead of their group opener against Botswana on January 24.
Gyan, 26, has made tremendous progress with treatment of a hamstring injury which was diagnosed to keep him out f0r 3-4 weeks.
However great work by the team�s medical team aided by Serbian specialist Mariana Kovacevic has seen the on-loan striker at UAE club Al Ain make a quicker than expected return to full training and is now in contention to play on Wednesday.
�It is nothing new that Gyan is a very important player for us. We will wait for him to come back soon. I am very happy that he took part in the training session on Saturday. I hope that when we play against Platinum Stars he plays the full match,� Ghana coach Goran Stevanoic said.
Gyan�s timely return serves a massive boost to the Black Stars in it�s aim to win it�s first African title in 30-years in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
