Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated his Man-of-the-Match award at Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations to Anthony Annan.
The Black Stars beat Tunisia 2-1 march on to the semi-finals courtesy an extra-time goal by Andre Ayew. Ghana will now meet Zambia in the last four on Wednesday.
However, Agyemang-Badu who was voted the game's best player says the effort and Ghana's victory was in honour of Annan whose mother, Sophia Sampson died on Thursday.
�I want to thank the almighty Father for this wonderful job. My country has qualified for the semi-final and I am proud to be part of this group," he said.
�I dedicate this award to Anthony Annan, my mate, whose mum died three days ago as we prepared for this [Tunisia] big match.
"I wish him well and wish everybody well too.�
Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was voted man-of-the-match in the quarter-final clash against Tunisia on Sunday.
The Black Stars beat the Carthage Eagles 2-1 at the Stade de Franceville to qualify for the semi-final where they would meet Zambia on Wednesday in Bata.
Agyemang-Badu is the third Black Stars player to win the award at the Africa Cup of Nations.
John Boye and Andre Ayew are the previous winners.
