A 35th minute own goal by Hearts of Oaks defender, Kofi Agyare gave AshGold a lone goal victory in the week 18 Glo Premier League game at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday.
AshGold playing a highly spirited game throughout the regulation time, went straight into attack right from kickoff and almost scored in the eighth minute but Yakubu Mohammed's shot was well dealt by goalkeeper Philemon McCarthey.
The homers continued to mount pressure on Hearts and in one of their attacks, Agyare in an attempt to save a tricky situation rather headed the ball into his own net.
The visitors led by Mahatma Otto, Laryea Kingston and Uriah Asante were on several occasions placed in check by the Ashgold defenders but, however, the few chances they had were wasted.
From recess, it was Ashgold who fought to increase their goal tally but failed to utilize their chances with Didier Kore and Latif Mohammed proving wasteful in the 67th and 75th minutes respectively.
Hearts played with ten men from the 60th minute following a second yellow card to defender, Osei Bonsu.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Hearts staged a fight for the equalizer that never arrived till the final whistle.
