LUKE MOORE scored a famous winner for Swansea to knock Manchester City off their perch. The striker took just four minutes to find the net after coming on as a 79th-minute sub for Danny Graham.

He lept above City's resolute defence to nod home — and take the Swans up to 36 points in the Premier League.

The defeat for City — along with Manchester United's 2-0 win over West Brom — means Roberto Mancini's side are down to second in the table.

Swansea have lost just two matches at home all season — a record only bettered by Liverpool and City.

And they made a bright start which culminated in Joe Hart bringing down Wayne Routledge for a seventh-minute spot-kick.

But Scott Sinclair's low effort was tame and the England keeper got a full hand on it to push it away to safety. Despite a couple of bursts forward from Mario Balotelli, City remained pegged back in their own half.

Striker Graham created Swansea's next chance as he turned well before firing wide of Hart's left-hand post. Balotelli became isolated up front his petulant shot from near the halfway line which flew well wide summed up his frustration.

City boss Mancini removed Gareth Barry, who had struggled, after 37 minutes to bring on Sergio Aguero.

And the Argentinian's introduction heralded City's best spell of the half.

Yaya Toure's volley was deflected over by Gylfi Sigurdsson's block before his brother Kolo headed off target.

David Silva drilled a shot wide just before the break and City's momentum carried on after the restart. Aguero failed to make the most of a good chance as he shot wide when Balotelli picked him out.

Kolo Toure had to be alert to cut of Graham's cross with Allen lurking in the six-yard box.

Routledge then curled an effort narrowly wide before City felt they should have had a penalty of their own on the hour mark.

Balotelli went to ground very easily with Allen in close attendance but referee Lee Mason waved away the appeals. Swans keeper Michel Vorm then made a sharp save to deny Micah Richards after David Silva had tricked his way into the box.

The match opened up with chances at either end. Balotelli curled over before Sigurdsson tested Hart. Balotelli was City's only real threat up front but he could only scuff wide when shooting from the edge of the box.

And with just seven minutes remaining Routledge found space and time the right to cross for Moore to head in. It was a deserved goal for Swansea who had more than held their own.

Although their hard work could have been for nothing if Richards' late header had stood.

The burley right-back jumped high to head home from close range but had already been flagged for offside. It cut short the celebrations on the sidelines as Mancini and his staff were enjoying the leveller.

City — lead by Balotelli — continued to pepper Vorm's goal with shots but Swansea held firm for the victory.
