Goran Stevanovic has told the Ghana FA it has 14-days to pay his entitled compensation after parting ways with as coach of the Black Stars.
The former Partizan Belgrade manager failed to turn up for a meeting on Wednesday to discuss his severance package and had rather returned to his native Serbia after claiming his safety is under threat – a charge the Ghana FA have since denied.
In a latest letter signed by his legal representative to the Ghana FA, Stevanovic has flatly refused a proposed compensation of three months wages – demanding his full pound of flesh else he is heading to Fifa.
Portions of the letter circulating in the local media read: “We want to make it clear that we won’t accept your proposal for three months salary payoff, we stand by our proposal of twenty-four months salary payoff and the remaining hundred thousand Euros for sign on fee.
“We ask you to make payment to his account within 14 days else we will take the matter to Fifa for final judgment.”
Stevanovic, 45, was told on Monday he won’t continue as coach of the Blacks Stars following his inability to lead the team to Nations Cup triumph earlier this year despite having a year left to run on his 30,000 Euros a month deal.
His assistant, Akwasi Appiah has been handed temporal charge of the team until a substantive is appointed.
