Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has attributed the successes in his football career to the eagle-eyed guidance from his elder brother Baffour.
Baffour, the striker who played for Ghana’s national team in the early 2000s, has used his experiences to guide Asamoah to avoid the mistakes in his career.
The former Greece-based attacker is regularly seen with Asamoah and has served as his personal coach by giving him tips from the stands during match.
Baffour was also instrumental in Asamoah’s decision to return to the Black Stars and the UAE striker says the role played by his brother in his career cannot be quantified in monetary terms.
”Baffuor has been my guardian angel. He has offered me some quality advice which has helped me a great deal as a footballer,” Gyan said.
”He has done so much for me which cannot be quantified in monetary terms.
“He has made sure I didn’t tow the line which would affect me negatively as a professional footballer, and I must say I am very grateful for that,” he added.
Baffour had a 12-year spell in Europe with clubs like Dynamo Moscow, FC Saturn and Czech side Slovan Liberec.
He returned in 2009 to play for Asante Kotoko.
