Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is drawing some positives from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations despite an injury-hampered campaign.
Boakye-Yiadom could not debut at the tournament due to a stubborn ankle injury.
The on-loan Sassuolo player twisted his ankle during the final day of training at the team's pre-tournament camping in Abu Dhabi and never recovered.
Boakye scored in the warm-up match against Egypt and was tipped to shine at the tournament.
The 19-year-old says he has no regrets and looks ahead to a bright future.
"I was not disappointed because it is part of the game," Boakye told Accra-based Joy FM.
"Being there, seeing some top players and even participating or being called up to be part of the 23- man squad was a great thing and I think it was a great experience I had there.
"I would have wished to play but whatever happens we have to give thanks to God."
