Olympique Marseille consolidated their second place in Ligue 1 with a 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Friday with Ghana duo Andre and Jordan Ayew in action.
Both players played key roles in the hard-fought home win which saw Andre-Pierre Gignac scoring the decider in the 41st minute.
Jordan was replaced in the 72nd minute by Pape Amadou Sougou while Andre made way in injury time for Morgan Amalfitano.
Marseilles’s unbeaten run of five games have lifted the side above Olympique Lyon and within four points of leaders PSG depite playing a game more.
Le Phoceens’ four-point gap advantage over Lyon will secure their second-place after Matchday 31 even if the former champions win their game at Reims on Sunday.
Marseille’s win on Friday night has brought them back into title contention with eight games left to play.
