The Michael Essien Foundation has presented a cheque for GH�80,000 to four charities to help them in their cause to improve on the livelihoods of the disadvantaged in society.
The foundations are Stepp App Foundation, Sweb Foundation, Ark Foundation and Youth Development Research and Innovative Centre.
At a brief event in Accra yesterday, which was attended by the founder of Michael Essien Foundation, Michael Essien, Co-ordinator of the foundation, Akosua Puni-Essien and representatives of partners, including Bank of Africa and Ernst and Young, it was disclosed that each of the four foundations would receive GH�20,000.
Akosua Essien stated that the amount was to augment the efforts of the charities to impact positively on the lives of people. She affirmed that the Michael Essien Foundation was committed to enhancing the lot of the underprivileged and the deprived in society.
Michael Essien expressed happiness about the progress of his foundation while stressing the need for more to come on board to help better the lot of the underprivileged.
He expressed gratitude to all for ensuring the realisation of a pet dream such as growing the Michael Essien Foundation.
