Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara has emphasized that, Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah will not invite any player to replace injured Kevin-Prince Boateng in his squad to face Egypt.
According to him, Kwesi Appiahs intension of inviting 25 players was to have a backup in case of injuries.
He however noted that, there will be no need to invite another player to replace him (KP Boateng) since FIFAs rule only allows 23 players for a match.
The Schalke 04 playmaker has confirmed he will stay in Germany to have his knee examined by his clubs medical team. Thus, he will not be available for Ghanas squad that will face Egypt on October 15.
Kevin-Prince Boateng who missed Ghanas FIFA group stage World Cup qualifier against Zambia due to injury again picked up another knee injury last Saturday when Schalke 04 beat Augusburg 4-1 in the Germany Bundesliga.
Speaking to PEACE FMs PEACE POWER SPORTS , Sannie Daara said that, the GFA is looking forward to receiving a medical report from Schalke 04 to affirm the Germany-born-Ghanaian stars injury situation.
