Ghana and Olympic Marseille midfielder, Andre Ayew, has been banned for three matches by the French Ligue 1 disciplinary committee.
The ban followed his dangerous tackle on Saint Etienne's Yohan Mollo in a league game last week.
Ayew was only booked for the lunge of Mollo who suffered a sprained ankle in the incident.
He later explained he had no intention to hurt the on loan Nancy player.
Television replay revealed the 23-year-old should have been sent off by referee Said Ennjimi just after the hour mark.
According to MTNfootball.com, the committee imposed the ban with a game suspended after listening to Ayew via video-conference.
