Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko have been dealt a devastating blow after former board member Jerry Asare died in Kumasi after battling illness for months, Happy FM has reported.
The top ex-Kotoko Executive member has been battling what is believed to be cancer for months and finally gave up the ghost on Monday in the Garden City.
The devastating news will rock Kotoko fans who were impressed with his work ethics during his time at the club.
The business tycoon carved a big name for himself when he led Kotoko players to boycott an FA Cup match against Heart of Lions in the famous ‘Yemo biom’ (We won’t play again) debacle.
He was a dye-in-the-wool Kotoko member who contributed significantly both in cash and kind to positively transform the Ghanaian giants.
