Chief Drummer of the Black Stars Joseph Langabel says it’s done and dusted for Black Stars general Captain John Mensah as far as the 2014 World cup is concerned.
“John Mensah is out of the system for about two years now and if you are a Coach and its left with two or three games to the World Cup; you call a Player who has not played for two years to the detriment of others who have been consistent over the years”.
The Black Stars General Captain has been out of the national team since the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea mainly due to recurrent injuries which have denied him first team action at club level.
“John Mensah is my man, he is my mentor, but you see the World Cup, we cannot go there with half fit Players or fringe Players and later come back and say had I known” Langabel added.
The 31-year-old has now joined Slovakian side FC Nitra to end his extended spell without a club, boosting his chances of making the squad for the 2014 World Cup.
