Wonder Club Accra Great Olympics clinched promotion back to the top flight league after edging Tema Youth 2-1 last week in a final Division One League play-off.
Former Ghana Football Association Vice President, Fred Pappoe, who is also a management member of Great Olympics, has asserted that Olympic’s comeback to the premiership has been long overdue and that beating Tema Youth to qualify was perfect.
He said the club will play in the 2014/2015 for good.
Mr. Pappoe denied allegations of bad officiating during the match and urged aggrieved persons to direct their anger against the GFA and not Referee Jospeh Lamptey since he was appointed by the Referees Appointments Committee.
“Joseph Lamptey’s performance was excellent,” he said.
He revealed that Tema Youth protested the initial appointment by the Committee and endorsed Referee Lamptey.
“You all saw the match, was there anything wrong with our two goals we scored?” he asked.
“Tema Youth scored the first goal and the goal was not disallowed.”
Olympics’ match winner sealed the Accra sides passage to the elite division.
