Two football fans were arrested at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Wednesday morning when they taunted Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan over musician Castros disappearance at the Black Stars training session.
The police swooped to arrest the two fans to prevent them from being beaten up by some supporters who were angry over the loud comments directed at the Black Stars' captain.
The two 20-year-olds students of the Koforidua Polytechnic started shouting Asamoah Gyan where is Castro directing that at the UAE-based attacker as the Black Stars arrived for training on Wednesday morning.
Angry at what many of the fans thought were insensitive comments from Isaac Owusu and Bright Nistowel, the supporters turned on the duo threatening to beat them up.
The police at the stadium quickly swooped to arrest the duo to prevent them from being beaten up by the angry crowd who were gathering around them.
Some fans hooted at the two students as they were marched by the police for detention and further investigations.
While the police were marching them away the two lads were seen trading accusations over who mouthed the provocative words towards Asamoah Gyan in the stands.
Castro, a famous music icon in Ghana, disappeared and feared dead in July while on holidays at the Ada resort with his close friend Gyan.
It is feared he drowned while boating riding on the river in the holiday resort and his body has since not be found.
The Black Stars have been camping in Kumasi ahead of Saturdays match against Uganda in Kumasi in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
