The Ethics committee of the Ghana Football Association has 'absolved' president of the GFA Kwesi Nyantakyi from any wrong doing in the alledged match-fixing claims levelled against him by the UK tabloid, The Telegraph.
In June this year, The Telegraph, accused the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of engaging in match fixing.
The newspaper released an extensive report implicating Ghana's football governing body as well as its President Kwesi Nyantakyi for organising fixed matches for the national team.
The matter which was under investigation by FIFA, was earlier this month refered to the Ghana FA Ethics committee after FIFA found the GFA boss not guilty of the allegations.
The Ethics Committee of FIFA released a statement saying it has concluded preliminary investigation into the matter and has decided to refer it to Ghana's FA to take a final decision.
And on Monday, the Ghana FA ethics committee headed by Nana Agyei Ampofo cleared the GFA President of any wrong doing insisting they found him not to be involved in the alleged fixing.
COMMITTEE FINDINGS: Considering the evidence before us, we are of the view that Mr Nyantakyi, president of the GFA did nothing untoward in the alleged match fixing arrangement. We accordingly absolve him of any attempt or preparation to do any match fixing or of any improper conduct.
