Milovan Rajevac has denied being in the running to become coach of Mauritania as reported by sections of the Ghanaian media.
The 60-year-old was reported be in a four-man shortlist to succeed Patrice Neveu as coach of Les Mourabitones.
Rajevac is one of over 18 expatriate coaches who have slapped in their applications to become the new coach of Ghana following the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah almost a fortnight ago.
News of the ex Black Stars trainer�s link to the vacant job at Mauritania appeared to suggest he was looking at other options despite his known interest to return as coach of the Black Stars.
But the Serbian in a signed e-mail response to Ghanasoccernet.com�s inquiry over the report carried by various websites dismissed his interest in coaching Mauritania while apologizing for the �misinformation�.
�I hereby wish to deny to the respected public the news that I am interested in position of new national coach of Mauritania,� Rajevac stated in his signed response.
�I would like to apologize to the misinformation.
�The truth is that I was talking to one national football team in Africa where I have a cherished respect and emotion and they to me.�
Rajevac is considered by many as a front runner to return as coach of the Black Stars after refusing to extend his contract after leading the side to a successful campaign at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
