Ex-France captain Marcel Desailly turned down the chance to become Ghana�s coach two month after the Ghana Football Association hierarchy approached him after the sack of Kwesi Appiah in September.
The former AC Milan and Chelsea told the Football Association the time was not right for him to handle the Black Stars.
Officials went on to interview coaches and later appointment Israeli Avram Grant who has been handed a 27-month contract.
Desailly has twice turned down the chance to coach his country of birth and in 2010 he pulled out of the coaching race when he was on a four-man shortlist to replace Milovan Rajevac.
�Maybe many of you are not aware that an approach was made. I was one of those tasked to speak to Marcel about whether he was ready to coach the Black Stars,� Black Stars management committee chairman George Afriyie told the Graphic Sports.
�I can assure you that I made that approach and he told us that the time was not right for it. I believe that in the near future he will consider his decision to take over the Black Stars.�
Desailly, born in Ghana, won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with France and ended his playing career in 2006.
