Black Stars midfielder Andre Ayew has not signed a contract extension with French Ligue 1 side Olympic Marseille, according to his spokesperson Fiifi Tackie.
The 24-year-old was reportedly said to have agreed a one-year contract extension with the Les Phocéens which keeps him at the Club till 2016 after an extensive discussion with Marseille President Vincent Labrune.
The player however confirmed in an interview with French news paper L’Equipe saying “It’s true I have agreed a new one year deal. The last day, President Vincent Labrune called me and asked me to stay”.
But Fiifi Tackie, who is the spokesman for the Olympic Marseille ace has denied such rumor indicating the former Black Satellites skipper’s contract runs out in June 2015.
“Ghana winger Andre Ayew has not signed a one-year contract extension with Marseille. His contract runs out in June 2015,” Fiifi Tackie posted on his official facebook page @Fiifi Tackie.
Ayew has been on the radar of some European powerhouses such as Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Liverpool.
